“Handcraft is an important part of human culture, but the ability to create things that enhance your life from simple tools and natural materials is sadly no longer a common skill. I’m obsessed with the northern forests and the traditional crafts of the people who have called and still call these places home. I draw a lot of influence from Scandinavian Sloyd, but also find inspiration from forest cultures and their crafts around the world. Something as simple as a spoon can enrich even the most mundane meal. Knowing who made it and where the materials came from can give you a real connection to such a simple item. My spoons are made with local, sustainably harvested wood and are completely hand crafted with traditional hand tools. Consciously designed to prioritize function over adornment, I still like to add folksy decorations that will hopefully make you smile every time you pick them up.” - LES WALTERS
